The sample had more women, more college graduates, more rural residents, and few African Americans and Hispanics. The reasoning behind the numbers in the sample for response is due to women being the primary caretakers also women number men in the age group overall in Missouri, and college graduates eliminated those that are illiterate or found the task likewise difficult to read and write a response. African Americans and Hispanics were underrepresented in this study due to lack of residency in the areas elect for the study.
