INTRODUCTION
The aim of this engagement is to define task and expand on the main principles and features of Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT). Then I will refer to the advantages and disadvantages of TBLT for EFL learners and the appropriacy of implementing this approach in the Greek educational context as headspring as outline potential implementation problems within this context.
THEORY
Definition of task.
According to Willis definition a task is viewed as a goal-oriented activity or an activity which involves the use of quarrel but in which the focus is on the outcome รข¦ kinda than on the language used to achieve the outcome.
By task, I mean a goal-oriented activity with a clear purpose. Doing a communication task involves achieving an outcome, creating a final product that displace be appreciated by some others.
A number of other terms and task-related theory is presented in Table 1.
Looking posterior into the history of TBL, one of the earliest users of the notion of task was N. S. Prabhu workings in Bangalore in South India. Prabhu used TBL in truly large classes but based his teaching around a series of tasks (Willis, 2008). Prabhu
