The Dallas Morning News has c everywhereed the metroplex since October 1, 1885. Since then it has become one of the largest newspapers of the United States with over 250,000 subscribers. The metroplex experienced problems in 1986 with the recession. Oil prices collapses and the economy was in a free fall. The recession had a daunting effect on Dallas. They ranged from more homeless being on the street to the void of the metropolis manager and assistant city manager spot. The Dallas Morning News showed this struggle with the recession through various articles in the months of September through November of 1986.
The beginning of September began with the crushing of galore(postnominal) college kids dreams. At 12:01 A.M. on September 1, 19 and 20- yr-olds woke up to a new law in Texas.
