The nature versus nurture question is a tough one for me to answer. Even after contrivement close to the different theories, I do not study in one over the other. I believe in both the nature and nurture when it comes to development.

Maturation is sequential patterns of change that are governed by instructions contained in the contagious code and shared by all members of a species (Bee and Boyd, 2007). I believe this too is true because all babies, with no medical issues, learn how to walk and talk, along with many other milestones no matter of the environment they are in. It is amazing how all babies develop at about the same rate. Even though not each child rolls over at exactly 6 months old or is crawling at 8 months, all children develop along the same guideline without environmental causes.
Also, I agree with the term behaviorism that John Watson used.
Watson believed that behaviorism defines development in terms of behavior changes caused by environmental influences (Bee and Boyd, 2007). I do believe that ones behavior is strongly influenced by the environment in which they grow up in.
I think that the environment in which a child grows up in plays a big part in their development the older they become. I bring on a nurse than comes to visit me every few weeks as part of the new parent support program that the host offers.
