AMISH
The Amish are horticulturalists. The Amish society is a subculture. Their life style is centered on agriculture. I am going to read how horticulture as the Amishs ancient mode of subsistence affects their beliefs and values, economic organization, friendly organization and kinship. The Amish ways of life are real distinct. Amish pack separate themselves from the mainstream society. They can give us useful lessons in community develop custodyt, family life, and farming. Their reputation is far higher than Americans. I am going to give an overview of the Amish culture and their way of life in past and present. The Amish rely on farming for their food because their primary mode of subsistence is horticulture.
The Amish started from the Anabaptist movement in Europe in 1525 generally among the lower class people. Anabaptists go back to the Swiss Brethren which were Christians who believed the intelligence was their only rule for life and faith. It has been subject to abusive nomenclature and the beliefs and practices have been ignored by many people. There is nearly two-thirds of the population that live in the United States. They formed because non everybody believed in what the Bible taught.



They were also called the Mennonites. They consider themselves cousins of the Mennonites. Anabaptism is also cognize as the Radical Reformation. They were taught separation from church and state which was unheard of in those days. Amish societies have been around for three centuries. The growth of the Amish has been very impressive and they continue to thrive. Most of them live close by their church district. Their population grows because of their large family sizes. They speak English, German, and Pennsylvania Dutch. The men often have the spiritual role in the homes. They stick with the Ordnung which is a religious blueprint of the expected behavior.
