Accommodating Differences

Cooperative nurture produces greater student achievement than traditional learning methodologies (Slavin 1984). Slavin bring that 63% of the cooperative learning assemblages analyzed had an increase in achievement. Students who work individu tout ensembley must compete against their peers to gain cheers or other forms of rewards and reinforcements. In this type of competition many individuals attempt to accomplish a goal with only a fewer winners. The success of these individuals stand mean failures for others. There ar more winners in a cooperative team because all members reap from the success of an achievement. Low achieving students tend to work harder when sort with higher achieving students. There is competition among groups in cooperative learning. slightly forms of group competition promote cohesiveness among group members and group spirit.

So with that being said, what if a teacher had a few different groups of students. For the sake of the assignment lets just say iii different groups (though most classes will have many more).



The groups in my classroom will be the Overachievers, the Underachievers, and for an ace in the hearty lets throw in some physically disabled students that be both over and underachievers. We will need to first set about out what are the characteristics of each group and second how can these groups coincide with one another.

First let us facet at the overachiever. Overachievers are ambitious, driven, and motivated to do (and be) the best. They have a unique mindset that keeps their brain on overdrive and a work ethic that keeps them one step ahead. High expectations and cogitate intensity are definite characteristics of overachievers. They are always pushing themselves, for more, - whether its professionally, academically, personally, or in a sport or hobby.
